ADA- Americans w/ Disability Act

ALF- Assisted Living Facility

Assisted living is a residence for older people or people with disabilities who require help with some of the routines of daily living as well as access to medical care when needed.

Ally

Someone who supports a group other than one’s own (in terms of multiple identities such as race, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, etc.). HFWA- Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act

Effective January 1, 2022, all Colorado employers are required to provide employees with accrued General Paid Sick Leave (PSL) and Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) per the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act (HFWA).

Refers to “The Ladder of Inference” Course offered by HilltopU. The Ladder of Inference describes the thinking process that we go through, usually without realizing it, to get from a fact to a decision or action.

Hilltop’s Residential Brain Injury Services (also known as the Life Adjustment Program or LAP) has been offering residential services for adults that are survivors of brain injury since 1985! Located on Hilltop’s Bacon Campus, our unique Supported Living Program supports each person with a comprehensive care plan that identifies not only their physical support needs, but also their emotional and social needs. Our person centered approach empowers people to define their quality of life.

PCR- COVID Test Type

PCR means polymerase chain reaction. It’s a test to detect genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus. These tests are sent to a State Lab and results are typically delivered in 48-72 hours.

VPN- Virtual Private Network

VPN stands for “virtual private network” — a service that helps you stay private online.  A VPN establishes a secure, encrypted connection between your computer and the internet, providing a private tunnel for your data and communications while you use public networks.
