Jo Ann Rezen has been serving in the Volunteer Services department for over four years. She comes in one to two days a week, four hours at a time, to help with the many administrative duties of managing roughly 200 volunteers serving annually throughout Hilltop. She rises to this challenge with humor and  humility. She helps archive volunteer records, enters information in the database, tabulates volunteer hours, creates flyers for trainings, sends invitations to special events, and formats the quarterly volunteer newsletter. Much more than supporting the department administratively, she supports the department’s mission and that of Hilltop by demonstrating what volunteering can be to all those around her. She is friendly and engaging to all she encounters; taking a personal interest in what is happening in their lives. She embodies our Hilltop values, particularly “Challenging the Status Quo,” by openly and honestly communicating information from a volunteer’s perspective. Jo Ann improves department systems and procedures to help ensure  that everyone serving has a positive volunteer experience with the organization.
