Carrie Gumber has been a volunteer with Hilltop since October of 2020. In her volunteer role, she has been delivering lunch to our cottage residents who have been unable to come into our main buildings for meals. Carrie is very flexible and comes in as often as four times a week to help out. She is someone we can depend on to show up when she is scheduled. She never just drops off a meal and leaves. Every time she delivers a meal, she takes the extra step to check in and see how the residents are doing. Not only has Carrie volunteered with meal deliveries, she volunteered to help out in our designated dining areas inside the building for cottage residents . “ I love how Carrie always shows up with a smile on her face and a cheery positive attitude that makes those around her smile. Carrie shows compassion to those around her making her volunteering with our residents and staff a win-win for all. Carrie is amazing!”, adds Kari Colombo, Fountains Leasing Executive. Carrie demonstrates all six of Hilltop’s values every time she volunteers. She is great at building relationships with the residents and knows how to have fun and make the residents laugh. She is very kind and genuine and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. She has a can-do attitude and never gets angry when she has to run back to the main building for a missed item. She makes sure the residents have everything they need before she leaves their cottage. During COVID, rules and regulations can change daily and Carrie is great at adapting to all these changes and moving around to where we need her most. Carrie deserves the Volunteer Mission Award because she truly embodies what is means to be a volunteer. Congratulations Carrie!
