On Friday, June 14th, nine students celebrated obtaining their GED through Hilltop’s Adult Education Classroom at the Mesa County Workforce Center.  The goal was to make it an intimate event and had students speak on their journeys. The traditional Pomp and Circumstance played as the students entered the room and Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” as they walked out! Lynae Fisher (pictured below) spoke about how it took her seven years to accomplish this goal with a message of “if I can do it, so can you!” Jorge Aragon (also pictured below) spoke about change and how he turned his life around with focus and determination. Congratulations to these and the grand total 26 students that have completed their GEDs so far in 2019.
