Hilltoppers,

We have come a long way since COVID-19 emerged in March. There were a lot of unknowns in the early days and changes were coming at us fast. Now we have more information on our side, but also a lot more fatigue. Staying vigilant is tiring, but no less important now than it was four months ago. What’s happening in Florida and Texas is worrisome, and while we are not seeing as dramatic of a rise in Mesa County (154 positive cases) and Montrose County (191 positive cases), the numbers are going up. We all have to do our part to stop the spread and flatten the curve.

Last week I was able to tell you about the wonderful reopenings happening around the organization. It means a lot to clients to be able to meet in person with someone in Health Access about healthcare coverage, or be able to visit their grandparents at the Fountains or Commons. Having to go backwards in our policy would be a detrimental blow to a lot of folks that need our help now more than ever.

As the Governor said this weekend: “wear your damn mask.” Wash your hands for 20+ seconds every opportunity you have. Stay 6 feet apart from everyone that is not in your immediate household. If we remain diligent in every interaction, every shopping trip, every decision we make today, the better off we will be in the weeks to come.

Together, we got this.
