GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) By Grace Reader The Fountains of Hilltop [along with The Commons and the Bacon campus] is thanking firefighters at their local fire station after a crew had to show up to the Fountains several times in one shift – something they say happens more than you might think.

If you’ve ever gotten a call from someone six or seven times a day you know that can get frustrating, but Hilltop tells us they always have positive interactions with every firefighter that’s walked through the door.

“Even the fourth time they’re out here in one day, I know that numerous phone calls can wear on somebody’s nerves, every time they walk through that door they have compassion, they’re friendly, they have professionalism,” said Jon Tadvick, the director at The Fountains of Hilltop.

People who work and live at the Fountains had a public display for the firefighters Friday afternoon, and brought food to the station too.

The fire department says they appreciate the gesture but they’re just doing their jobs.

“It’s just a part of what we do, it’s part of our job title. So being recognized for doing a good job feels really good,” said Gareth Parks, firefighter, Grand Junction Fire Department.

The food they got was pretty tasty too. There was steak, chicken and even some veggies, to stay healthy, of course.
