Jessie Kelleher is not only a Hilltop employee she also has been volunteering with the Adult Basic Education –English as a Second Language (ESL) program since 2009. She teaches 45 classes a year, as a volunteer. Jessie specializes in teaching students historical perspectives, accent reduction, citizenship, career readiness, reading for comprehension, language life skills and much more. She views her work in ESL as helping people who are underrepresented. Jessie says that she enjoys helping people reach their dreams. One of her former students had this to say about Jessie, “In the past six years, she not only helped me to learn English, but also helped me in other ways…she helped me learn the American culture.” Congratulations Jessie!
Dawn Ullrey has volunteered on Hilltop’s Delta/ Montrose crisis line for 14 years. The crisis line is an essential part of our Domestic Violence Services program. It allows victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to get the help they need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dawn volunteers weekly and is always available when she is on-call. Dawn and our other dedicated program volunteers provide a crucial service to those in crisis in our community. Congratulations!
