Remembering Ciara

As many of you know by now, Hilltop lost a valued family member last week in a tragic accident. Ciara Romero was a CNA at the Life Adjustment Program for over a year. Ciara was an amazing young woman whose care and compassion shone brightly.

Ciara was a Central High School graduate that had a passion for caring for those that could not care for themselves. From family members, to befriending a young man with needs in high school, she sought out those that were in need of a little extra love and took the time to care for them.

Jeny Knight said these words of Ciara: “I hired Ciara and can say that she was easily the kindest person I have ever met.  She had a heart of gold and truly cared for others.  Beautiful from the inside out.  She was inspirational to others and really lit up the room when she was in it.  Our residents enjoyed spending time with her and she enjoyed them just as much!  She would help out anywhere she could and was always so positive.”

According to her father, Paul Romero, a celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 11th, at 11:00 am at Fellowship Church. “We would greatly appreciate if you would help us to show how bright, happy and amazing her life was by dressing in pinks, yellows, tiffany blues and bright whites! Not required but we would love to see a sea of bright colors vs black. Ciara would love it.”

Mike Stahl wants to remind us all of this: “We are a family at Hilltop, and I trust you will continue to support one another as we all cope with this tragic loss. If you need to speak with someone, I highly encourage you to reach out to your supervisors or the Hilltop EAP counselors by calling 970-242-9536.”
