Hilltoppers,
Mesa County has now hit a “community transmission” level of positive results. This means positive cases have arisen without known origins. Cloths mask are recommended by public health officials to protect others in case you are asymptomatic. At Hilltop, we are now entering the next level of precautions. As of today, April 9th, it is mandatory for employees to wear cloth masks at all times on Hilltop properties. The only exception is if you are in an isolated workspace, completely by yourself. At Hilltop, we will definitely be doing our part to make this the fashion statement of 2020!
The logistics team has been busy delivering hundreds of cloth masks to the residential programs and have at least another 3,000 on their way. Procedural masks and N95 masks, are to be used when directly working with residents on isolation status. Please contact your logistics team member with questions or needs for your program and specific working situation.
Masks are not something most of us have to deal with on a day to day basis. Marlys has shared a few “tips for beginners” to help you stay safe and take care of the masks:
- Masks should completely cover your nose and mouth.
- Avoid touching the mask or your face while wearing it.
- When taking off the mask, fold the outside of the mask in on itself so that the ‘contaminated’ side stays contained.
- Store cloth masks in a paper bag so it can dry properly.
- Wash your masks daily in hot water and dry in a dryer if possible.
- As usual and most importantly, wash your hands before taking off and after handling your mask.
Thanks for helping us take this next step to keep our residents and community safe.
Together, we got this.
Mike
