Hilltoppers,
It is a confusing time right now with “Stay at Home” language transitioning to “Safer at Home”. Mesa County’s recommendations and rules are now veering slightly away from the State’s adding to the muddy waters. What I want to make clear is the changes Hilltop’s made to protect our residents, clients, and employees against COVID-19 are not changing at this time. We want to continue to protect our most vulnerable residents by staying the course we’ve laid out.
As retail stores, gyms, restaurants, and churches begin the process of slowly opening their doors, I want to encourage all employees and their families to wear masks when off work and in public. Evidence supports wearing masks does help the community spread of the virus. Below you will see the best practices on how to handle this new mask-wearing reality. If you or your immediate family are in need of a mask for personal use, we have a limited supply available. Contact your supervisor, or Don Kendall at don@htop.org, to arrange a pick up or interoffice delivery.
Here are a few other clarifications of what Colorado’s “Safer at Home” means:
• Continue staying at home as much as possible.
• Do not gather in groups of more than 10 people.
• Social distancing is here to stay; keep 6ft away from others.
• Avoid traveling outside a 10 mile radius from your house.
• Stay home and report symptoms if you are feeling sick.
As Mesa County leads the state in gradually reopening, everyone must do their part to assure success. Staying safe at home AND at work is the only way to protect everyone.
Together, we got this,
-Mike
