Hilltoppers,May and June are typically busy with back yard BBQs and celebrations marking a huge rite of passage in our culture: graduation. In this past Sunday’s Daily Sentinel, Hilltop ran this ad highlighting some of the Hilltop graduates and their family members. Of the 25 graduates submitted, 22 earned their high school diplomas and 3 earned their college degrees.
If you are a parent or a family member of one of these seniors, congratulations. Without a doubt these students could not have achieved this goal without your love, guidance, and support along the way. If you yourself are a graduate this year, I’m looking at you Ta’lor, Savannah, Heidi, Felicia, Keenan and Wyatt, all current Hilltoppers who have juggled their studies and responsibilities at the same time, congratulations. You have invested in yourself and your future and will see your hard work pay off.
These students have put in years of hard work and dedication and still deserve the ‘pomp’ despite the circumstances. So while each institution is figuring out how to hold ceremonies to honor these outstanding students, here at Hilltop we can recognize them in some small way. Go find a senior, or a parent, or a family member of a graduate today and give them a socially distancing safe thumbs up, air five, or attaboy/girl!
