Hilltoppers,

I was reminded this morning during our Operations Team meeting just how important the value of “FUN” is to Hilltop, our clients, and ourselves. Fun is woven into the culture of Hilltop for a reason and it shouldn’t be taken for granted.  I think we could all use a little more fun in our lives right now. Fun is contagious in the best possible way, and fun is immune to social distancing. Best of all, fun decreases the effects of isolation, fun brings us together, and fun puts people first.

Here are just a few examples of how programs are incorporating fun and play:

  • The Fountains has created instant dance parties, where periodically throughout the day, music is played over the intercom and everyone stops what they are doing to dance for 15 seconds.
  • The Life Adjustment Program is creating a campus-wide scavenger hunt for employees and residents to play together.
  • The Family Resource Center is having remote workers send in pictures of scenes that make them happy throughout the day.
  • Our Wellness Program is conducting remote cooking and fitness classes to help bring individuals together.

Please be sure to share what you might be doing in your programs with your fellow Hilltoppers. Our value of FUN will be a critical component for our employees and clients making it through these difficult days. Taking our responsibilities seriously but not ourselves, seems like it was uniquely written for this specific time. As essential workers we all have enormous responsibilities, AND we need to promote laughter AND remember to play!

Together, we got this,

Mike
