Hilltoppers – We wanted to share the following email that we received through our website. This amazing young woman took the time to recognize all of you, and the vital work you do in our community. Keep up the good work and know you are seen and appreciated.

To all Hilltop Workers,

My name is Erica Bryan and I am going to be a junior at Grand Junction High School. I am writing this letter to show you all the appreciation and respect you deserve. Being in the medical field is a very stressful profession but it is a wonderful way to serve your community. Whether you help provide the medical care needed at someone’s home, a nursing or retirement home, a doctor’s office or in a hospital, it is a vital need in our community. In this stressful time of this pandemic, you have had the most stressful yet important tasks at hand. It takes a lot of courage and compassion to walk through the door to work every day knowing that you’re putting your life on the line for others. That has always been the case but with the pandemic, the stakes are even higher. Getting through these tough times is what is going to make our community stronger even if it feels like we are just suffering. We are learning a lot and it is thanks to you guys that we can feel safe in these risky times. You should be very proud of yourself.

Although I don’t want to go into the medical field I have a lot of respect for you and look up to you a lot! Seeing the kindness and selflessness you show every day makes us want to have those same qualities. There are so many kids out there that think the same thing every day especially when you are the one they see standing by their side during surgery, quarantine, or even just when they walk through the door! Never let anyone make you think that you aren’t appreciated and respected! You all are amazing people and never give up on yourself! I hope you have a wonderful summer and are staying safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

Erica Bryan
