Sue Bussing has been with Hilltop as part of the finance team for nearly thirteen years. In that time, she has embodied Hilltop values and greatly contributed to the success of our mission. Her job requires maintaining the financial accuracy and ensuring Hilltop is in compliance with all of the grant funding that Hilltop is awarded. Her attention to detail and ability to track complex situations ensures that positive relationships with our funders are maintained, and that funding continues to flow into Hilltop. Outside of Hilltop, Sue is also a valued member of her community in Montrose, playing a vital role in Kids Aide.

The job requires a high level of integrity, courage, and relationship, all of which come naturally to Sue. Her integrity shows through every single day in her work, short cuts are never taken and compliance at 100% is the standard. She isn’t afraid to speak up and challenge policy when she sees that something may conflict with the agreements we have with grantors, but always does so in a kind and respectful way.  Her relationships with not only funders but program managers greatly contributes to the success of Hilltops community programs.

Every year brings new challenges, and Sue steps up and takes on those challenges without question. Hilltop is lucky to have such a person as part of the team, to be an example of what being a Hilltopper is.
