In the RYS classroom, Timi differentiates her instruction for kiddos with academic abilities ranging from 2nd to 12th grade. This incredible challenge, does not slow her down, nor deter her from offering the highest quality education possible to each and every student. Timi fearlessly looks for ways to teach academics to low functioning students, while aligning with the standards and curriculum guides. She comes in early, stays late, works on days off and is continuously growing her knowledge and skills in order to educate the youth in her room. As a teacher, Timi has made it her mission to give her students the best education possible, while sharing her love for learning in a kind, considerate and respectful way. Her students describe learning with Timi as ‘fun and interesting” and her teaching style as ‘one I can actually learn from. I want to go to school now…I never have wanted to until now.” Timi’s drive, motivation and commitment to excellence in her classroom and in her lessons plans, has been recognized by the Colorado Department of Education. Not only have they recognized her work, but have asked that she share her lessons for the CDE guide that will be modified in accordance with what she has been doing at Hilltop. Timi is setting the new State standard for facility schools and for teachers across Colorado.
