Amy is an incredible Hilltopper who consistently displays behaviors that align with our mission and values. Amy has lived our value of Growth by stepping into the Learning and Development Manager role and making it her own immediately. She did the same thing when she joined our organization as the Wellbeing Coordinator. She learned all of the processes very quickly and has taken the lead on creating new processes to further enhance the department with very little oversight. She has added a professional touch to the way HilltopU is presented to not only internal employees but also external customers. She has used this role, as well as her previous one, to embrace new ways to bring people together and create community. She has created new courses, offered more trainings at different times, learned about people’s needs.

She has helped foster connection with not only HilltopU and the leaders of the organization but also by creating moments within trainings to help employees connect with eachother. She is continuously looking for ways to connect with everyone in the organization and not allow HilltopU or other programs to operate in a silo. This mindset and behaviors have helped us build an internal community where everyone can learn. She focuses on creating this community that can serve not only all of our employees (including brand new people, people who have been here 30+ years, leaders, future leaders, and anyone who wants to learn) but also external partners that are dedicated to learning as well.

She consistently thinks about how to make decisions that align with her personal values and Hilltop’s values. Her Integrity shines through in all that she does. She not only is a very reliable employee and human being but she also holds herself to a high standard. She admits her mistakes to not only herself and her supervisor, but also her peers. She allows other people to learn from her mistakes and she embraces them as a way forward. She also brings a calming sense of fun to the PeopleOps team. She is subtle in the ways she expresses her fun (such as randomly speaking in an accent at a team party) but this subtle way has helped her build strong relationships.

Amy is truly a Mission Champion in our organization. Her actions have created connection that build a community where everyone belongs.
